Privacy Policy

Effective 20 June 2026

The short version

Clocktower stores the time you track on your device. If you are signed into iCloud, it syncs through your own private iCloud account so your data is available on your other devices. There is no account to create and no sign-in. We do not run our own servers, we cannot read your data, we do not sell it, and we do not track what you do in the app.

What data the app holds

The app holds the content you create: projects, time entries and notes, goals, and your rate and currency settings. This lives in a local database on your device using Apple's Core Data.

iCloud sync

If you are signed into iCloud and have iCloud Drive enabled, the app mirrors your data to the private database of your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. That data is controlled by you through your Apple account. The developer has no access to it and operates no separate server. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

No account, no profile

Clocktower has no sign-up and no login. You never create an account, and we never build a profile of you. Your data belongs to your device and your iCloud account, both of which you control.

Third party services

Clocktower relies on a few third-party services. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription and entitlement status: it receives purchase events and an anonymous app user identifier so the app can tell whether your upgrade is active. RevenueCat does not receive the contents of your time tracking, and it does not receive your name, email address, or other personally identifiable information. See RevenueCat's privacy policy for details on its role.

Analytics and crash data

We do not track what you do inside the app, and there is no third-party advertising and no cross-app tracking. What you log is never tied to your identity. We do receive anonymous, aggregate measurements that cannot identify you. These include crash reports that help us fix bugs, install and usage counts, and anonymous in-app usage events such as which screens and features are used and when a purchase screen is shown. These events are tied only to a temporary per-session identifier that is discarded when you close the app. They are never tied to your identity and never include the contents of what you log. We process them on our own infrastructure (Cloudflare) and never sell or share them with advertisers.

Your choices

You can delete any project or entry inside the app. To remove everything, delete the app and remove its iCloud data from your Apple account settings. Because the data lives in your iCloud account, you control its retention.

Children

Clocktower is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated effective date.
